In establishing a sustainable culture and arts center, it is important to realize an environmentally friendly design and practices that ensure sustainability. The İzmir Culture and Arts Factory creates a sustainable library experience through its eco-friendly design and applications.
Izmir Culture and Arts Factory has implemented successful practices in the three fundamental dimensions of sustainability—economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability—and has put many practices into action on its sustainability journey.

Our Social Sustainability Practices
Exhibitions, presentations, and hands-on training sessions aimed at protecting and promoting the natural and cultural heritage of our country and Izmir ensure that our almost forgotten handicrafts, music, folk dances, and historical and cultural heritage are presented to our visitors in the best possible way. It attaches importance to the use of new technologies to create a healthier, more accessible, and smarter world. We take precautions against possibilities, disasters, and emergencies, and take action to remove barriers. We implement social integration and non-discriminatory, inclusive policies.
Our Environmental Sustainability Practices
The Izmir Culture and Arts Factory considers the needs of future generations while using natural resources to meet today's needs. It prioritizes the cleanliness and quality of its water systems, taking measures to ensure the efficient use and consumption of resources, and informing its employees and visitors about these issues. By establishing a sustainable waste management system, it aims to achieve savings targets in energy and water consumption, implementing waste prevention measures and initiatives, and pursuing a policy that supports local production and recycling.
Our Economic Sustainability Practices
The Izmir Culture and Arts Factory aims to focus on the well-being of people and employees. It attaches importance to gender equality and works to eliminate gender discrimination. It has made the protection of human rights its fundamental goal. It endeavours to best fulfill the principle of ensuring the long-term well-being of all its employees by providing access to education and healthcare services, decent employment, reducing inequality, and protecting social harmony and justice. It aims to ensure the efficient use of resources, long-term economic growth, and fair opportunities.
Examples of Our Work
- An exhibition of artworks created from remaining materials of products manufactured by ASELSAN, one of the leading names in the defense industry, within the scope of the Izmir Culture Route Festival.
- Activities aimed at both visitors and employees to encourage healthier habits, improve lifestyles, and raise awareness.
- In order to ensure universal accessibility, ceramic exhibition featuring replicas of archaeological artifacts with Braille descriptions for visually impaired visitors.
